Overview
--------
IP Changer is a free tool for Windows that lets you switch your
PC's IP address instantly with a single click.
Save up to 3 custom IP profiles and apply them anytime -
no more digging through Windows network settings.


System Requirements

  - Windows 10 / 11
  - Administrator privileges (prompted automatically on launch)

How to Use
----------

  1. Run IPChanger.exe
     - A UAC dialog will appear asking for administrator permission.
       Click "Yes" to continue.

  2. Select your network adapter
     - Choose your target adapter from the dropdown at the top.
       (e.g. "Wi-Fi" or "Ethernet")

  3. Set up your profiles  [Profiles tab]
     - Click on the profile name (e.g. "Profile 1") to rename it.
     - Enter the IP address and gateway for each profile.
     - Settings are saved automatically when you click away.

  4. Apply a profile
     - Click the "Apply" button next to the profile you want.
     - The current IP display will update once the change takes effect.

  5. Configure subnet mask and DNS  [Settings tab]
     - Default subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
     - Default DNS: 8.8.8.8
     - Change these as needed and click "Save".

  6. Revert to DHCP
     - Click "Use DHCP" at the bottom to switch back to
       automatic IP assignment.


Profile Settings
----------------
  Each profile stores the following:

  Name      Display label for the profile (editable)
  IP        Static IP address  (e.g. 192.168.1.100)
  GW        Default gateway    (e.g. 192.168.1.1)

  Subnet mask and DNS are shared across all profiles
  and can be configured in the Settings tab.


Notes
-----
  - Administrator privileges are required to change IP settings.
    The application will request elevation automatically on launch.

  - Profile settings are saved to:
      C:\Users\<YourName>\.ip_changer_config.json
    This file is created automatically on first run.

  - Changing your IP address incorrectly may cause loss of
    network connectivity. Make sure you enter the correct values
    for your network environment.

  - To restore network access at any time, click "Use DHCP"
    to return to automatic IP assignment.
