Register the issued key in the app's License screen. Internet is required
for activation. The perpetual license allows two concurrently activated PCs;
updates to the same product do not require repurchase. Regular, Light and
Catalog licenses are separate.

Uninstall
Before removing the app, deactivate this PC in the License screen if moving
the license to another PC (internet required). Close the app and its playback
windows, then delete the extracted application folder. Back up any personal
files you placed there first. There is no dedicated uninstaller.
Remove unwanted app-launch shortcuts. Keep original media, .vbm bookmarks
and the bookmark shelf if you want to retain them. Settings and activation
data stored elsewhere may remain; contact the author for complete data removal.
Separately installed media tools are not removed with this app.
Documentation updated: September 29, 2026. Executable unchanged.

Video Bookmark v4.15 — Quick Start
==================================

Requirements
Windows 10 / 11, 64-bit, and VLC media player 64-bit (3.x).
Get VLC from https://www.videolan.org/vlc/ (not included).
Python, MPC-BE and FFmpeg are not required.

Setup
Extract the entire ZIP to a permanent folder, then run VideoBookmark.exe.
If VLC is not found, select its installation folder in Settings and use the
libVLC test button. The usual folder is C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC.
You can switch the display language in Settings.

Activation
Open License in the main window and register your Video Bookmark license key.
An internet connection is required for activation. The trial allows five new
bookmarks. Video Bookmark Light and Bookmark Catalog use separate keys.
Use the deactivation button on the old PC when moving your activation.

Create and play a bookmark
1. Select a local video or audio file.
2. Set the beginning (A) and end (B) of the desired segment.
3. Preview the A-B segment.
4. Check the title, mode, repeat count and saved volume; create a new bookmark.
5. Open the bookmark shelf and double-click its shortcut to play in Mini Player.
To edit a bookmark, select it in the editor and use overwrite save.
Bookmarks refer to the original media; they are not exported video clips.
Keep your original media files available.

Bookmark Catalog — optional, separately licensed
Open Catalog from the main Video Bookmark window. Open License in Catalog and
register the key issued for Bookmark Catalog. If the trial limit dialog appears,
use its license registration option. No separate Catalog EXE is needed.
Catalog requires the regular Video Bookmark application; it is not for Light.
The regular Video Bookmark purchase does not include a Catalog license.

Data and troubleshooting
Settings and internal bookmark data are stored under
%LOCALAPPDATA%\VideoBookmark
The bookmark shelf is in the folder selected in Settings.
Close the app before backing up the internal data, shelf and original media.
Do not share your internal data folder: it can contain license information.
Moving the EXE after creating bookmarks can break their shortcuts.
If media cannot be found, check its location and use the original-media search.
If activation fails, check that the key belongs to the correct product.
